These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Mastering Your Scenes Studio website, software, subscription services, and related features.
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and purchase a subscription.
By using the Platform, you represent that you have the legal authority to enter into this agreement.
2. Description of the Service
Mastering Your Scenes Studio is an educational, AI-assisted fiction-writing software service. Released features may include scene planning, Story Bible and knowledge tools, project and series organization, specialized AI coaching, user-requested generation, revision and editing support, collaboration, version and recovery tools, export, and subscription management.
Feature availability may depend on release status, account access, subscription, and configuration. Features may evolve over time.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
- Protecting your password.
- All activity occurring under your account.
You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it current.
4. Subscriptions
Access to Mastering Your Scenes Studio requires an active subscription.
Subscription pricing, features, limits, and storage allocations are described on the Pricing page.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date.
5. Payments
Subscription payments are processed by a secure third-party payment provider.
You authorize recurring billing according to your selected subscription.
Failure to pay may result in suspension or cancellation of service.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of all original creative content you create or upload, including:
- Stories
- Scenes
- Characters
- Story Bible content
- Notes
- Worldbuilding
- Research
- Uploaded documents
Mastering Your Scenes Studio does not claim ownership of your creative work.
The Platform, software, branding, trademarks, methodology implementation, interface design, and related materials remain the property of Mastering Your Scenes Studio unless otherwise stated.
7. AI Assistance
The Platform provides AI-assisted writing tools.
When you intentionally use an AI-assisted feature, the Studio assembles information reasonably relevant to the requested feature and transmits the request through the Studio's AI processing pathway. The exact context depends on the feature and may include the active scene, selected project context, Story Bible material, hierarchy context, or other information needed for the requested task. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, non-unique or unsuitable for publication. You decide whether and how to use it.
The Studio distinguishes educational coaching from generation. Coaching features are designed to question, teach, analyze, evaluate and suggest rather than silently replace the author's judgment. Separate user-requested generation features may produce draft approaches or text when the user intentionally invokes them.
The Studio uses service providers to support hosting, authentication, payment processing, email delivery, file storage and AI processing. Operational observability may also involve Studio-controlled records and infrastructure services. Statements about upstream retention, authorized access, routing, storage or deletion will not exceed the evidence available for the exact production configuration.
Sentinel Lite is currently inactive and is not connected to live AI traffic. Its designed boundary, and any provider controls encountered during active AI processing, are not routine continuous or periodic scanning of manuscripts merely because they are stored in the Studio. Ordinary requests may be refused, limited or redirected at the feature or provider level. An automated signal or request refusal is not, by itself, a finding of wrongdoing, and no automated safety signal itself imposes serious account consequences; any such consequence would require authorized human decision-making under the applicable rules.

8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Violate applicable laws.
- Infringe intellectual property rights.
- Attempt unauthorized access.
- Disrupt Platform operation.
- Upload malicious software.
- Abuse AI services.
- Use the Platform for fraudulent activities.
- Interfere with other users.
9. User Content
You are responsible for all content you upload or create.
You represent that you have the necessary rights to upload your content.
You grant Mastering Your Scenes Studio only the limited rights necessary to store, process, and display your content for providing the requested services.
10. Availability
We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Maintenance, updates, and unforeseen technical issues may occasionally affect access.
The Studio provides autosave, version history, local draft recovery, recovery tools and project-snapshot features intended to reduce the risk of accidental loss. These tools are not a guarantee that data can never be lost. Users should maintain independent exports or backups of important manuscripts when appropriate.
11. Modifications
We may improve, modify, or discontinue features as the Platform evolves.
Material changes to these Terms will be posted with an updated Effective Date.
12. Account Suspension
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
Examples include:
- Fraud
- Abuse
- Security threats
- Illegal activity
- Repeated violations
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available."
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties regarding uninterrupted operation, accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mastering Your Scenes Studio shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use of the Platform.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mastering Your Scenes Studio from claims arising from:
- Your use of the Platform.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your infringement of another person's rights.
16. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Mastering Your Scenes Studio operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time.
Updated Terms become effective upon publication.
