AI Use & Disclosure
Effective Date: September 18, 2026. How Mastering Your Scenes Studio uses artificial intelligence, what content is sent for processing, and how the Studio thinks about coaching, generation, ownership, and safety.
Our commitments
Your Writing, Your Data & AI
Your writing remains yours.
Storing a manuscript or using a Studio feature does not transfer ownership of your original creative work to the Studio.
AI is used when you choose AI-assisted features.
Your manuscript is not sent to an AI model merely because it is stored in your account.
We minimize context for the task.
The Studio is designed to assemble relevant project context for the feature you requested instead of indiscriminately transmitting an entire manuscript.
Sentinel Lite is not manuscript surveillance.
The Lite safety architecture is designed around active AI interactions, not continuous or periodic scanning of stored manuscripts.
We separate our controls from provider controls.
We will tell you what the Studio controls and avoid pretending we can guarantee upstream retention, authorized access or deletion behavior we do not control.
We do not hide uncertainty behind marketing.
Where a provider fact is not verified, we qualify or omit the claim rather than state an absolute.
AI suggestions remain suggestions.
Generated or analytical output can be wrong. Authors decide what belongs in their work.
We will update these commitments when architecture changes.
Material provider or data-handling changes should trigger a review of this statement, the Privacy Policy and AI Disclosure.
Read our Privacy Policy and AI Use & Disclosure.
What AI Does in the Studio
The Studio uses AI for educational coaching, analysis, brainstorming, planning support, Story Intelligence, editing/revision assistance, publishing support and certain user-requested generation features. You remain responsible for creative decisions and publication.
When Your Writing Is Sent for AI Processing
Your stored manuscript is not sent to an AI model merely because it exists in your account. AI processing occurs when you intentionally use an AI-assisted feature that needs relevant project information. The Studio is designed to assemble context appropriate to that request.
Coaching Is Different From Generation
Most coaches are designed to teach, ask questions, analyze and suggest rather than silently ghostwrite. Separate generation features can create draft approaches or text when you deliberately request that output.
AI Output Can Be Wrong
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, inconsistent with your intent, or similar to other outputs. Do not rely on a label such as Story Bible grounded as a guarantee that a generated statement is true. Review important output before using or publishing it.
Third-Party Processing
AI requests pass through the Studio's server-side AI pathway to an external model provider. Applicable provider/service terms may permit temporary processing or safety/abuse retention and limited authorized review. The Studio does not promise zero upstream retention or zero authorized provider access without evidence for the exact production configuration.
Training
We do not currently publish a no-training statement because we cannot verify the exact terms and configuration of every model provider used in production. If we receive written provider evidence that supports a narrower representation, we will update this disclosure and attribute it to the source.
This disclosure does not promise zero retention, zero storage, fixed routing, instant deletion everywhere, or that no human can ever access provider-side data.
Sentinel Lite
Sentinel Lite is designed to operate around active AI requests rather than continuously scanning private stored manuscripts. A request-level safety refusal is not a finding that an author committed wrongdoing.
Your Ownership
Using an AI feature does not transfer ownership of your original manuscript to the Studio. Ownership and any rights in AI-assisted output may depend on applicable law and the nature of human authorship; the Studio does not guarantee copyrightability or exclusivity of AI output.
